Las Madres forms toddler team to raise funds for preemie babies
by walking in March of Dime WalkAmerica this Saturday

For the first time ever, Las Madres Neighborhood Playgroups has created a “toddler team” to walk in the March of Dimes WalkAmerica. The event, which raises funds to help premature babies, takes place on Saturday, April 29 at 9 a.m., at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. Inspired by a desire to plant the seed of community involvement in their young children, Las Madres volunteer organizers, all moms with toddlers, decided to plan an activity that their toddlers could do themselves, and walking seemed the perfect answer. The toddlers will walk a one-mile route designated by WalkAmerica as the route for “specially abled” walkers. For most of the toddler participants, this will be the longest distance they have ever attempted to walk, though most of their parents will bring along a stroller just in case.

All toddlers and their parents are welcome to join the Las Madres team or make a donation by going to www.WalkAmerica.org and selecting Las Madres 2003 Club family group, or call 408-984-6784 for more information. For further information regarding Las Madres visit www.lasmadres.org.
