Nice to see small business welcomed by San Jose
Editor,
The other day at the Almaden Valley Community Association meeting, one of the Board members remarked that he had tried to find out when the new Sonoma Chicken Restaurant would open and was told by someone there that the opening was delayed due to the number of regulations that needed to be complied with. There had been much talk about streamlining the business approval process, so it was decided to find out about these reported difficult regulations.
To follow through, one of the restaurant’s co-owners, Jeff Starbeck, was contacted and an interview was requested. Here is his reply:
“Bob, I guess there was some miscommunication. The city has done a good job. Most of our delays were because of trying to work out lease terms with McDonalds. I have met with Nancy Pyle and she was instrumental in helping me enlarge our patio. If you talk to her, tell her I am very grateful for all her help.”
It is nice to see that small business is being welcomed by San Jose, at least by District 10. Also, don’t always necessarily believe the first information you get about a subject.
