Councilmember Pyle invites local students to attend Saturday’s
Youth Summer Job Fair at Oakridge Mall

San Jose City Councilmember Nancy Pyle has teamed with David Burke, general manager of Westfield Oakridge Mall, and Work2Future (formerly the Silicon Valley Workforce Investment Network) to host the third annual District 10 Youth Summer Job Fair on Saturday April 21.

“This job fair is a wonderful way to benefit the youth within our community and support the strong businesses which need skilled employees in order to succeed,” said Pyle.

Students who attend the job fair, hosted near Oakridge Mall’s entrance to Target, will be able to take part in a series of workshops led by volunteers from Work2Future starting at 10 a.m. and running until noon. These workshops will focus on topics such as how to properly fill out a job application and how to have a successful job interview.

Students will also have an opportunity to participate in a job fair with scheduled participants including Albertsons, California Pizza Kitchen, PW Supermarket, Safeway, SaveMart, SouthValley YMCA, Tuxedo Warehouse, Westfield Oakridge merchants and representatives, the City of San Jose’s Parks, Rec and Neighborhood Services department and several other companies.
