Almaden resident featured in play
'Pandemonium' opens April 25
The Tabard Theatre Company can provide you with a little extra chaos and fun as part of an exciting outing that will intrigue the whole family.
"Pandemonium," Tabard's third world premiere of its seventh season, tells the story of Pandora's Box, and what really happened after it was accidentally opened, letting a band of "evils" loose upon the world. Written and directed by Tabard Associate Artistic Director Susannah Greenwood, the play travels through an imaginative, mythological world full of quirky characters attempting to avert catastrophe before it's too late.
One of Almaden's own young residents will be helping to cause that chaos. Alyssa Teixeira plays Wrath, one of the "evils" released into the world by the opening of Pandora's Box. Being wrathful is not something Alyssa often experiences in her daily life, but the challenge on stage will help her reach her ambition to be an actress on Broadway.
Age 10, Alyssa is no stranger to Tabard. "Pandemonium" is her second show with the company. Previous Tabard audiences saw her singing and dancing as an Oompa-Loompa in last season's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Alyssa wanted to perform with Tabard again, even though she was not familiar with the story of "Pandora's Box" because she "always has fun with Tabard" and she was certain from the story that this would be no exception.
The play will run April 25 through May 10 at Theatre on San Pedro Square, 29 North San Pedro Street. Tickets are available through Tabard's box office at (408) 679-2330 or online at www.tabardtheatre.org.
