Seventh annual Great American Pickup

This Saturday, city council members and other city officials will join volunteers from throughout the city to help clean up litter at the 7th annual Great American Litter Pickup.

As part of this year’s event, neighborhood volunteers will meet at 10 designated locations to remove litter from streets, lots, parks and schools. Council members will work with volunteers in all 10 council districts. Volunteers from District 10 should register and check in at the Pat Dando Hoffman/Via Monte Neighborhood Center, 1180 Blossom Hill Road.

The anti-litter program has been a successful collaborative effort among key partners including The Valley Transportation Agency, Santa Clara County, Santa Clara Valley Water District, Cal Trans, Green Team of San Jose, California Waste Solutions, Garden City Sanitation, Green Waste, the City of Campbell, the City of Sunnyvale, the City of Gilroy, Santa Clara County District Attorneys Office, Keep San Jose Beautiful, Volunteer Center of Silicon Valley, Green Challenge, Silicon Valley Anti-Litter Campaign, The San Jose Alameda Business Association, Japan Town Business Associa-tion, San Jose Downtown Association, Strong Neighborhoods Initiative, and many other neighborhood associations, schools, community organizations and businesses.
