MUSIC
April 10 – May 2
Opera San Jose presents “Die Fledermaus” at the Montgomery Theater. THEATER
March 26 – April 18
The San Jose Repertory Theater presents “Rounding Third” directed by San Jose Repertory Associate Artistic Director, John McCluggage. Opening March 26 and running through April 18, this production arrives just in time for baseball season. “Rounding Third” takes a comedic look at the high stakes world of Little League coaching. Don (Charles Dean) is a win-at-all-costs coach whose son is the star pitcher. The new assistant coach, (Remi Sandri) whose son is the kid who never gets picked, thinks the point of the game is for everyone to have fun. Their clash of styles and wills makes Rounding Third a humorous, heartfelt and insightful look at fatherhood and sports, and a home run for anyone who’s ever played, coached or watched a Little League game. For tickets or additional information, call 367-7255 or visit www.sjrep.com.
April 13 – May 2
“Thoroughly Modern Millie”, winner of six 2002 Tony Awards including Best Musical, is coming to the Center for the Performing Arts in downtown. That entire collection of ballets has been purchased by Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley and will be presented in their children’s series over the next 3 seasons. All of the sets, costumes, and musical recordings for “Silly Simon” are from the original production in Denmark. The score is a commissioned work by Bent Fabricius-Bjerre.
