Almaden Valley Women’s Club seeks scholarship applicants
The Almaden Valley Women’s Club has announced that it has several scholarships to distribute and is seeking deserving students to apply for the scholarships, which will range from $500-$1,000.
The AVWC Service and Academic Scholarship Award committee promotes student service and academic achievement. These individual scholarships, funded through the Almaden Valley Art & Wine Festival, recognize high school students for outstanding leadership in service to their community and neighbors.
The award is open to graduating high school seniors who will attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as first-time freshmen in the fall of the upcoming year. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.3 and reside within the 95120 zip code. Winners will be selected based on outstanding volunteer experience, academic performance, school activities, letters of recommendation, and personal essay.
Applications must be complete and postmarked no later than April 4, 2006. Application packets are available from your school counselor and on the AVWC Web site. Please mail completed packet to: Almaden Valley Women’s Club, Attn: Scholarship Chairs, P.O. Box 20084, San Jose, CA 95160
