OSA to hold March 25 preview hike

Coyote Ridge rises east of Highway 101 in mid-county. Thousands pass it every day without the chance to know its secrets. In April the Open Space Authority (OSA) will open areas of Coyote Ridge on a limited basis for the public to enjoy the wildflower displays, pano-ramic views and wildlife.

But visitors bring impacts. On March 25, OSA will host a short preview hike where the issues of providing public access to sensitive lands will be the focus. Several elected officials or their representatives will attend as well as staff from VTA, POST, Coastal Conservancy and Mid-peninsula Regional Open Space District.

The one-hour preview hike is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25 at 10 a.m. and will include a discussion led by the OSA general manager. RSVP is required to lburkhart@openspaceauthority.org or by calling (408) 224-7476.

To get to the preview take Highway 101 south and exit at Coyote Creek Golf Drive, turn east and follow the road around to the south. Parking turnout is on your left.
