Missionaries to visit St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church on March 24
Craig and Victoria Goodwin, Orthodox Christian missionaries serving in Romania since 1995, have just begun a speaking tour presenting their work as servants of the Gospel. They will tour 10 states over a period of nine weeks to promote mission awareness and raise funds for their ministry. During their presentation they will share the path they took that led them into the mission field.
These experienced missionaries will explain the needs of the people in Romania and how the work of the Orthodox Church in Romania and its philanthropic arm, Christiana, has enabled them to reach out to thousands. The Goodwins will highlight one of their newest projects, which they have
been working on over the past two years, a home for abandoned infants and mothers at risk of abandoning their children, called the Protection of the Theotokos Family Center.
The Goodwins have accomplished many things since they began serving in Romania, including working on opening a free medical clinic, establishing youth programs, setting up an orphanage and have supported the growth of schools in poor areas of the city.
St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church will host the Goodwins on March 24. They will be there for the Presanctified Liturgy at 6:30 p.m., and will talk about their work during an informal Lenten dinner from 7:45 to 9 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the Liturgy and supper. St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church is located at 6430 Bose Lane, San Jose, near Camden and Almaden. Call Fr. Konstantine Mendrinos, pastor, for more information at (408) 268-3214. |
