Meet the Author series for teens
On Friday, March 11 at 4 p.m. teens (ages 13-18) are invited to participate in our special “Meet the Author” program to be held in Vineland’s community room. We are pleased to have local artist and author Pirjo Polari-Khan as the special guest to talk about the writing process. She is the author of the humorous work, “Blueberry Pieway and Other Short Stories.” Pirjo was born in Finland and came from a family of artists and authors. You’ll enjoy her innovative presentation on the creative writing process. Community service credits are given to participating students. Light refreshments will be served.

Events
- Science fiction fans—we have a book club for you! On Saturday, March 12 at 2 p.m., we will discuss Isaac Asimov’s classic work, “The Gods Themselves.” Visitors are always welcome.

- The Evening Book Discussion group meets on Tuesday, March 15 from 7-9 p.m. in the library’s community room. Join us in a stimulating discussion of John McGahern’s “Amongst Women.” Visitors are welcome.

- The book discussion group for seniors (50+) meets on Thursday, March 24, at 10:15 a.m. in the library’s community room. The book under discussion is Sue Miller’s “While I Was Gone.”

- The ESL Conversation Club is held every Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. in Study Room A. This one-hour session is a great way to practice English conversational skills and to make friends at the library. No pre-registration required.

- Family Story Time will be held on Saturdays at 11 a.m. in Vineland’s community room. Our storyteller is Nancy Buckles, Vineland’s new children’s librarian.

-“Mr. K’s” preschool story time will be held on Wednesdays at 11:15 a.m. in the community room.

- A Chinese/English Story Time will be held on Wednesday, March 16 at 7 p.m. and a Persian/English Story Time will be presented on Wednesday, March 23 at 7 p.m.

- On Fridays, Toddler Story Time (ages 24-35 months) is held at 10:15 a.m. and Preschool Story Time (ages 3-5) is at 11:15 a.m. Please note: There will be no story times on Friday morning March 25. The library opens at 1 p.m. on that day.

- Mother Goose Story Time (ages 12–24 months) is Tuesdays at 11:10 a.m. This is a 20-minute program.

- Story Time Express, a 15-minute story time for preschoolers, is held every Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.

Vineland Branch Library is located at 1450 Blossom Hill Road. It is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please note: The library will be closed Friday morning, March 25, but will be open 1-6 p.m. on that day and closed Thursday, March 31 for the Cesar Chavez holiday.
