Company also announces 2005 plans to support Habitat projects
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California recently announced it has earned two prestigious Golden Hammer awards for outstanding support of Habitat for Humanity, the international non-profit organization that helps low-income families build affordable housing. The company also unveiled plans to support construction projects in 2005.
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California was honored by Habitat for Humanity for “Most Funds Raised” and “Most Hours Donated” among Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation affiliates worldwide. Last year, the local brokerage raised more than $300,000 and the company’s sales associates and staff volunteered more than 4,400 hours working on six Habitat for Humanity construction projects in Northern California. This is the sixth consecutive year Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California has earned the coveted Golden Hammer award.
“Earning these two prestigious honors is a heart-warming testament to the hard work and remarkable dedication of the more than 4,800 sales associates who comprise our Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage family across Northern California,” said Chris Trapani, president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Silicon Valley. “We believe deeply – as does Habitat for Humanity – that everyone should have the opportunity to own a home. Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage people have incredibly big hearts and I’m proud to be part of the team.”
Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Northern California will donate the estimated $300,000 raised by sales associates, managers and staff last year toward nine Habitat for Humanity construction projects throughout Northern California. The recipient Habitat chapters and local projects include:
Silicon Valley Habitat for Humanity, $50,000 towards construction of one of 11 units on Murphy Street in San Jose;
Peninsula Habitat for Humanity, more than $57,000 towards construction of homes on Torres and Bernardino in Daly City;
“Our goal has always been to build a home in every county in Northern California,” said Trapani. “It’s a lofty goal, but it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come in six years of fundraising. Together, we’ve raised more than $750,000, donated more than 25,000 volunteer hours and most importantly, touched the lives of 22 deserving families.”
