More on global warming, cooling

Editor,
Tom Emswiller (Letters, Feb. 1) talks of global warming as a foregone conclusion when he complained about a caption under a picture of snow-covered Mt. Umunhum. (The caption read: "Now, shall we discuss global warming?")

I would like to point out that global warming and global cooling come in cycles. After all, "consensus of scientists" does not science make. Everything short of absolute and proven is just a theory.

That Mr. Emswiller denies that there is any validity to the dissenting arguments of many scientists’ screams of close-mindedness and blind faith in what Al Gore and the mass media would have us believe. Remember Galileo and his view of the world that went against the popular 'consensus'? Furthermore, shouldn't we be thankful for the global warming cycles between the many ice ages earth has experienced?
