Assault and robbery have Almaden residents tense

A Jan.14 assault and robbery at Almaden Meadows Park at the corner of Meridian and Camden avenues has residents on edge.

The 17-year-old male victim visited the park at approximately 5:50 p.m. Two young male suspects, 18-20 years old, brandished a knife, held the victim to the ground, punched him and stole his wallet, cell phone and iPod. They then fled the scene. The victim sustained facial injuries and was taken to the emergency room.

One of the suspects is white, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall, clean-cut, short light hair with a slim build and diamond earrings in each ear. The second suspect is Hispanic, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, clean-cut with dark hair and medium build.

Eleven days later on Jan. 25 at 4:30 p.m. the suspects came to the door of the victim’s home on Crystal Springs Drive. The victim called for his father when he realized they were the same suspects who assaulted and robbed him at Almaden Meadows Park. The suspects ran off on foot toward Golf Creek Drive.

San Jose Police Department Det. Brian Anderson is handling the case. An artistic rendering of the suspects will be forthcoming. If anyone has any further information regarding this case, call Anderson at (408) 277-4166.

The suspects are thought to live locally in the Almaden area. If anyone sees someone matching the description of the two suspects, call 911.
