Almaden youth enters 4-H contest
Nine-year-old Kyle Geringer of El Sereno 4-H Club entered two different categories in the “Make it Yourself With Wool” contest Jan. 17 in Bakersfield and won fifth place out of 22 entries in the pre-teen (ages 12 and under) contest for his 100-percent reversible wool vest.
He also won second place in the “Made for Others” category, where he made a matching 100-percent wool vest for his brother Dustin. His prizes included two pieces of wool and $75.
This is Kyle’s first year in 4-H and in the sewing project. He is also enrolled in archery, foods and nutrition, public speaking, outdoor cooking and outdoor adventures.
