Pets
of the Week: Ginger
Ginger is the name of our cute dwarf Netherlands bunny, although
my mom calls him Hoppy. We bought him on Dec. 15 as an early Christmas
present for me.
Presently, he lives in a cage outside my bedroom as he's too young
to go outside in the cold. He thinks he's a little cat and loves
to come out of the cage and hop around all over the place. He's
amazingly fast and can change direction in midair.
Unfortunately, he recently broke his foot. My mom was trying to
cut his toenails as they were too long and scratching me every time
I picked him up. Anyway, I guess he doesn't like to have his nails
cut and he kicked out his back leg quickly and it broke a bone.
My mom was not too pleased at having to pay $291 at the vet to
X-ray his foot and put it in a cast, but he's so cute with his big,
brown eyes that she didn't mind too much. He still runs around like
a maniac—even with a broken foot!
We all love him a lot.
