Get ready for the Winter Walk

First annual WOWW and senior resource fair coming Jan. 31

The first annual Westfield Oakridge Winter Walk (WOWW) and Senior Fair will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31 in the Sears’ Courtyard at Oakridge Mall, 925 Blossom Hill Road from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

The Westfield Oakridge Winter Walk begins at 8:30, with registration and a complimentary breakfast, Starbucks coffee and Jamba Juice. The walk kicks off promptly at 9:15 a.m. and will feature activity stations coordinated by Kaiser Permanente and the South Valley YMCA. A short course and a long course will be available, with activity stations that focus on upper-body strength, balance, and chair exercises.

Participants will also have access to a Senior Resource Fair, which includes representatives from Kaiser Permanente, the South Valley YMCA, AARP, the San Jose Senior Commission, Health Trust Meals on Wheels, the Metropolitan Adult Education Program, the San Jose Police Department, the San Jose Fire Department, the Office on Aging, Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County, Heart of the Valley, Yellow Cab, Times Media Group and many others. Following the walk, participants will be able to partake in a series of cool-down and stretching exercises while a drawing takes place for prizes like tickets to the SAP Open, YMCA memberships and Westfield giftcards.

Those arriving for registration at 8:30 will be treated to a free breakfast.
