Almaden teens to perform with Teen Dance Company Feb. 7
Teen Dance Company's "Second Stage" upcoming show at
Mountain View Center for Performing Arts features talent from many
local schools, including Almaden. Second Stage is Teen Dance Company's
annual, informal presentation that will showcase choreographic works
developed for the company through the guest artist series and features
selected works in progress created by the company dancers.
Teen Dance Company's mission is to cultivate teenage artists who
possess technical proficiency, creative depth, and artistic social
awareness. TDC also participates in an outreach program. Its purpose
is to introduce and educate the public, particularly youth and teens,
about the art of dance. TDC faculty instructs outreach classes and
is assisted by TDC dancers who are required to provide a limited
number of community service hours. Outreach now services over 300
youths annually and is funded in part by a grant from the Arts Council
Silicon Valley, and supported by a co-sponsorship with the city
of Palo Alto.
The performances will be held Feb. 7 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and
Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. To order tickets, visit the MVPAC box office or
order by phone at (650) 903-6000. For more information about Teen
Dance Company, call (650) 325-4422 or visit www.teendancecompany.org
