CRIME STOPPER OF THE WEEK
Bank Robbery
On January 13, 2004 at around 4:30 p.m., a bank robbery occurred
at the Bank of the West located at 2210 Business Circle in west
San Jose. The suspect approached the teller and showed her a typed
note that stated that the suspect had a weapon. No weapon was seen.
After the teller gave him the cash from her drawer, the suspect
said, “I’m sorry.” He walked out of the bank,
got in a gray car and drove westbound on Elliot Street. He was described
as a mixed race male, possibly Asian or white. He was in his mid
30’s, about 6’ tall, 200 lbs., with medium complexion
and build. He was wearing a maroon beanie and a gray long sleeve
shirt. The suspect may also be responsible for other robberies in
San Jose and the Monterey Bay area.
CRIME STOPPERS is a cooperative effort between the local media,
San Jose Police Department, and a citizen Board of Directors. Once
a week an unsolved police case is presented to the public. Citizens
are urged to call 947-STOP if they have information on any other
serious crime. You do not give your name, you are given a code number
and if the tip results in an arrest you receive a reward of up to
