Leland Blue & Gold Annual Auction ‘Emerald Isle’ Gala seeks donation items

22nd annual dinner dance auction gala fund-raiser celebrates 40 years of education

The Leland High School Annual Blue and Gold Auction is currently seeking donations for its Emerald Isle Gala, which will be held March 17 at the San Jose Marriott Hotel in downtown San Jose. The Blue and Gold Auction is supported 100 percent by parent volunteer efforts.

“This year’s Leland Blue and Gold Auction ‘Emerald Isle Gala’ theme is a celebration of Leland’s 40th annual birthday” said Cathy Blecher, 2006 Blue & Gold Auction co-chair. “For the past 22 years, Leland’s parent volunteers have been able to share their talents by delivering one of Almaden Valley’s highly anticipated fund-raising events while achieving our goal of raising money to support our students at Leland High School.”

All donations for the event are tax-deductible. The Blue and Gold Auction will feature live and silent auction items ranging from premier vacation homes, golf outings, spa treatments, restaurant gift certificates and many local Almaden services. There are also advertising placement opportunities available to be featured in the auction program.

All proceeds from the 2007 Emerald Isle Gala will be used toward new bleachers for the home side of the Pat Tillman field for the school’s Athletic Department, technology LCD projectors and computers for the classrooms, sound and lighting equipment for the Drama Department and display cases for the library.

About Leland Blue and Gold Auction
The Blue and Gold auction is the premier annual fund-raiser for Leland High School, a National Blue Ribbon School, California Distinguished School and a CCS Athletic & Scholastic champion. The auction raises funds for Leland's Booster and Parent clubs that are used to support the school's academic and athletic programs. Past proceeds of the auction have been utilized for school scholarships, the Pat Tillman Field, new gym equipment, counseling services, graduation night and to fund items on the teachers’ wish lists.
