Pyle honors San Jose Prepared
Prior to Mayor Chuck Reed’s State of the City address, all 10 council members honored groups or people that had done amazing things for their districts in 2008. District 10’s Nancy Pyle honored San Jose Prepared volunteers, who are using the “Train the Trainer” program to help keep residents safe in case of disasters. The volunteers are working with the city’s Office of Emergency Services to train others to teach life-saving methods and foster disaster preparedness throughout the community. The volunteers teach these classes in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and soon in Mandarin. Pictured with Pyle, center, and Reed, far right, are Yvette Galindo, Scarlett Lam, Rebecca Wang and Yvonne Wong, while David Bushman, James Fowler, Alex Fraser and Don Muger did not attend the breakfast.
