Leland High evacuated Jan. 14 for bomb scare
Leland High School was evacuated early Wed-nesday morning after a bomb threat was called in about 9:20 a.m. on Wednes-day, Jan. 14, according to San Jose Unified School District spokesperson Karen Fuqua.
The school was immediately evacuated, with the event going smoothly. All classes went to designated areas while teachers, accompanied by police officers, checked their rooms for anything different. Nothing out of the ordinary was found. The event lasted about 45 minutes and all students were back in their respective classes within an hour.
This is the second bomb threat to Leland this school year. The first happened earlier in the morning, before classes began for the day, and just after schools began their 2007-08 terms. Today’s ac-tions, according to Fuqua, were more organized and stream-lined. –By Carol Rosen
