The Almaden Business Association’s (ABA) Steering Committee
met last week to discuss the association’s plans for upcoming
months. In its inaugural year, 2003-2004, the ABA continues to grow
in membership, currently boasting more than 70 members, and in capability,
warranting focus on the group’s specific mission. At the meeting
the Steering Committee organized several events beneficial to group
members and the community alike.
The group plans to invite four candidates running for the District
10 councilmember post and open it to public attendance. Each candidate
is invited to address the association and guests, presenting their
views and ideas outside of a debate format.
In addition, the San Jose Chamber of Commerce announced that ABA
members have access to meeting rooms downtown in the Chamber office.
Lastly, the group decided to move forward on a community service
project which has yet to be determined. Currently, members are favoring
a project requiring the adoption of a local park.
Almaden Business Association’s next meeting is from 8
a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5 at Chevy’s Fresh Mex
on Almaden Expressway, next to Barnes and Noble.
