NEWS BRIEFS
West Valley Senior Winter Walk this Saturday
San Jose City Councilmember Linda J. LeZotte, along with Santa Clara County Supervisor James T. Beall, San José City Councilmember Judy Chirco, Campbell Councilmember Jane Kennedy and the San José Office on Aging invite seniors to join them on Jan. 14 to keep everyone’s number 1 resolution—to get more exercise.
The West Valley Senior Winter Walk will be held Saturday, Jan. 14 from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Westgate Mall, 1600 Saratoga Ave. in San Jose.
“I know from personal experience that cold weather can interrupt workout routines, which is why I wanted to invite the seniors in my community to join me for a walk and exercises in Westgate Mall. This is going to be a fun event to kick-off those New Year Resolutions to lose weight and be healthy,” said Councilmember LeZotte.
The West Valley Senior Winter Walk is a free event that will feature a walk through Westgate Mall, exercises tailored to the needs and abilities of seniors, a rich resource area with information on senior health and interests, breakfast, healthy snacks and raffles and prizes for senior participants. Free transportation is available by reservation.
Event registration will begin at 7:30 a.m., with the welcome at 8:30 a.m. and the walk at 9 a.m. To pre-register, reserve transportation or for more information, please call Crystal Morrow at (408) 535-4918.
