Almaden Area Police Report
1/2, residential burglary
Nikette Way
The day before, an officer investigated a residential burglary on
Nikette Way. The reporting party suspected their narcotic-dependent
grandson of the entry and theft. Approximately two hours later,
they reported the grandson entering their Copperwood townhome rental
with a key taken in an earlier burglary. Officer Johnson followed
up information from the family and arrested the 19-year-old suspect
in a flophouse on Edenbury Drive. Stolen property was found on the
suspect, along with a key taken for the Copperwood rental.
1/3, terrorist threat, brandishing a deadly weapon, felony vandalism
Kooser/Camden Ave.
Officers were dispatched to vandalism at an apartment complex. The
known suspect threw a large boulder into the window of a vehicle,
shattering the windshield and causing other damage. He brandished
a knife and made verbal threats to the victims. The suspect fled
before officers arrived. Later, the suspect returned, causing further
disturbance, then abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. The vehicle
was impounded. The suspect returned again. He was spotted by an
officer and he and other officers initiated a felony car stop. The
suspect was taken into custody and booked on the charges and warrants.
1/6, traffic enforcement
The District Adam team conducted traffic enforcement and education
at the following schools in cooperation with “Safe Passage”
week. The team issued citations and warnings and the breakdown is
as follows:
Dartmouth Middle School (1 citation/0 warnings)
Leland High School (0 citations/13 warnings)
Graystone Elementary School (6 citations/12 warnings)
Castillero Middle School (2 citions/5 warnings)
