Hello all…
With much excitement, I am joining the team at the “Almaden
Times Weekly,” taking over for retiring sports editor Karl
Laucher. I am very happy to have the opportunity to continue my
career with the Times, and look forward to the many exciting and
inspirational events that make up the Almaden Valley sports scene.
Raised in Florida, I received my B.A. degree in journalism from
Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida in December 2002. I was a
scholarship softball player and played competitive beach volleyball
for five years. I am very passionate about writing, and with my
life-long involvement in sports, I find it suitable and rewarding
to put the two together.
I moved to California in February of this year to pursue a career
in journalism. Living in Palo Alto, I found freelance work with
the Palo Alto Daily News, covering local sports, and later with
the Palo Alto Weekly. Augmenting my writing efforts, I found part
time work in photography, public relations, coaching and waiting
tables until I accepted my full-time post with the “Almaden
Times Weekly.”
I am as eager to begin my sojourn with the Times as Karl is to
pursue his many action-packed adventures. With his willingness to
share his wisdom and experience, and my desire to pursue knowledge,
I expect the transition to be an enjoyable one.
Since the main component of community sports is the community itself,
please do not hesitate to contact me you have anything you’d
like to contribute. I can be reached at 494-7000 or via e-mail at
